One powerful way to enhance visibility and streamline online operations is by linking your Google Business profile with the Google Merchant Center. This strategic move not only improves your online reach but also opens up a plethora of benefits for your business.

This guide will walk you through the process and highlight why every business should consider this integration.

Linking Your Google Business Profile with Google Merchant Center: A Step-by-Step Guide

Overview

Step 1: Ensure you have Google Business Profile and Google Merchant Center Accounts

Before you start linking the two platforms, ensure you have a Google Business profile and a Google Merchant Center account. If you don't have one, create them through the respective Google platforms.

Step 2: Access Google Merchant Center

Log in to your Google Merchant Center account. Navigate to the "Settings" section, and choose "Linked accounts" from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Link Your Google Business Profile

Click on the "+" icon to add a linked account and select "Google Business Profile." Follow the prompts to connect your Google Business account to the Merchant Center.

Step 4: Verification

Complete the verification process to confirm the link between the two accounts.

Automatic linking (according to Google Help Center)

For the automatic linking to work, the Business Profile owner or manager has to be an administrator or standard user on the Merchant Center account and logged into the Merchant Center. If there aren't Business Profiles linked already in the Merchant Center:

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the tools and settings icon.

  2. Select "Linked accounts" under "Settings".

  3. Click the Business Profiles tab.

  4. If your email address is listed under "Business Profile owner & manager", click Link and you are finished.

  5. If your email address isn't listed, click the plus button under "Business Profile owner & manager".

  6. Enter the email address with which you are logged into the Merchant Center and associated with your Business Profiles.

  7. Merchant Center will automatically request and approve the linking if you are both an administrator or standard user in your account and a manager or owner of your Business Profiles.

  8. You might have to refresh your page to verify that the link was approved automatically.

Manually linking (according to Google Help Center)

Step 1: Send a linking request

To send a linking request, follow the steps below:

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the tools and settings icon.

  2. Select "Linked accounts" under "Settings".

  3. Click the Business Profiles tab.

  4. Click the plus button under "Business Profile owner & manager".

  5. Enter the email address of a Business Profile owner or manager.

  6. Click Send request.

Congratulations! Your Google Business profile should now be seamlessly integrated with the Google Merchant Center.
