Adding images to Google Business profile is vital as it significantly boosts engagement and credibility; businesses with photos receive 42% more requests for directions and 35% more click-throughs to their websites, making them twice as likely to attract customer interest and visits (Google).

Type of content to post in the Google Business Profile

  1. Use High-Quality Images:

    • Resolution: Ensure all images are high-resolution and clear. Blurry or pixelated images can detract from your brand’s credibility.

    • Professional Photography: Whenever possible, use professional photography to showcase your stores, products, and services.

  2. Showcase Your Business:

    • Storefront and Interior: Include images of your storefront, interior spaces, and key areas. This helps potential customers get a feel for your stores environment.

    • Products and Services: Highlight your key products and services in a visually appealing manner. Show them in use or in well-lit, attractive settings.

  3. Include Staff and Customer Interactions:

    • Staff Photos: Feature images of your staff at work, which helps personalize your storesand build trust.

    • Customer Interactions: Capture moments of customer interaction or customer testimonials. This adds authenticity and relatability to your profile.

  4. Regular Updates:

    • Seasonal and Event Photos: Update your visual content regularly to reflect seasonal changes, special events, or new products in the stores.

    • Consistent Refresh: Keeping your gallery updated signals that your business is active and thriving.

  5. Optimize for SEO:

    • Descriptive Filenames: Use descriptive filenames that include relevant keywords before uploading images. For example, “best-italian-restaurant-interior.jpg” is better than “IMG1234.jpg”.

    • Alt Text: Add alt text to your images with relevant keywords. This improves accessibility and helps with SEO.

What Not to Do

  1. Avoid Stock Photos: Use original images rather than generic stock photos. Authentic images resonate better with customers and build trust.

  2. Don’t Mislead: Ensure that images accurately represent your business, products, and services. Misleading images can lead to negative reviews and loss of trust.

  3. Avoid Over-Editing: While it’s good to enhance your images, avoid excessive editing that makes them look unrealistic or unprofessional.

  4. Keep it Professional: Avoid using images with watermarks, logos of other businesses, or any form of advertisement that looks unprofessional.

  5. Mind the Clutter: Ensure your images are clean and free of unnecessary clutter. A clear, focused image is more appealing than a busy one.
