This article outlines key operational elements within the Mobal platform, including API key handling, social account verification, and core system features such as Profile Groups, Tags, Service Areas, and OCPI.
API Key Generation and Visibility
For security reasons, API keys generated via the Mobal dashboard are displayed only once at the time of creation. If the key is not copied during this window, it cannot be retrieved later.
To proceed:
Navigate to Settings > API Access.
Revoke the existing key.
Generate a new one and ensure it is securely stored.
If the key is truncated or not visible due to a UI issue, please contact Support with relevant screenshots or context.
Social Account Linking and Verification
When configuring or updating a business profile, the platform may request links to public-facing social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
The platform does not require any proprietary or platform-specific business IDs.
Verification is conducted based on the validity and public accessibility of the provided URLs.
There is no OAuth or API-based account authentication at this stage.
This setup enables external linking and profile enrichment but does not support automated content or review syncing unless explicitly integrated in future updates.
Profile Groups
Profile Groups are used to logically organize multiple locations under a unified structure, streamlining management and access control.
Functional Advantages:
Apply brand settings, contact information, and content across all profiles within a group.
Assign user roles and permissions on a group level.
Simplify reporting, tagging, and campaign segmentation.
This feature is especially relevant for multi-location operators and franchise models seeking efficient operational oversight.
OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface)
OCPI is a protocol standard used primarily in the electric mobility sector for managing EV charging infrastructure.
Note: Mobal does not currently utilize OCPI in its restaurant or retail operations platform. Any references may pertain to cross-domain or future integrations.
Service Areas
Service Areas define the geographic reach of a business or profile, enabling enhanced location discoverability and relevance.
Applications include:
Configuring delivery or service coverage beyond the physical address.
Tailoring campaigns and visibility by region or city.
Supporting localized content, offers, or customer communications.
Service areas may influence search appearance, review distribution, or automated logic based on region-specific criteria.
Tags
Tags are customizable metadata labels that enhance segmentation and profile management across the platform.
Use Cases:
Operational categorization (e.g., “Franchise”, “Pilot Location”, “Premium Tier”).
Filtering and reporting within the dashboard.
Triggering workflows, campaigns, or content targeting based on tag logic.
Tags are non-hierarchical and can be applied flexibly across profiles, groups, or campaigns to support advanced filtering and automation.
