Mobal has an MCP server, which lets you manage your locations from an AI assistant instead of the Mobal dashboard. You can ask for what you need in plain language, and the assistant reads and updates your business information for you.

This article explains what the MCP server does, how to connect it, and how to set it up in Claude. The connection takes about a minute and you can remove it at any time.

What MCP Is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a shared standard that lets AI assistants connect to the tools you already use.

Connecting Mobal over MCP gives your assistant a secure, read-and-write link to your locations. Instead of opening Mobal and clicking through each location, you ask:

Update the holiday hours for all my locations to closed on 25 December

Your assistant does the work in Mobal, and you approve the change before it goes live.

What You Can Do Once Connected

Look up your locations and see what information is published
Update business details such as description, categories, contact details and attributes
Change opening hours, including holiday and special hours
Read your reviews across Google, Apple, Meta and Bing
Publish posts and photos to your connected profiles
Edit your Mobal website, including pages and sections
Check performance, such as how customers find you and how you compare to nearby competitors

Requests apply across all of your locations at once, so a single instruction can update your whole estate.

Before You Start

You will need:

A Mobal account with at least one location
An AI assistant that supports remote MCP connectors
If your company manages its own AI tools, your IT admin may need to approve the connector first

Connection Details

These are the only details you need, whichever assistant you use.

There is no API key to copy or paste. You sign in to Mobal once during setup and approve the access on screen.

How to Connect with Claude

Open Claude and go to Settings
Select Connectors
Click Add custom connector
In the URL field, enter https://app.mobal.io/mcp
Click Add
You will be sent to Mobal. Sign in with your usual Mobal email and password
Review the access screen. It shows the name of the app that is asking, the access it is asking for, and the website you will be returned to
Click Approve

Claude returns to the Connectors screen and Mobal now appears in your list.

To confirm it worked, start a new chat and ask:

Which locations do I have in Mobal?

If Claude lists your locations, the connection is active.

How to Connect with Other Assistants

The wording differs between apps, but the flow is the same everywhere.

Find the Connectors, Integrations or MCP servers section in your assistant's settings
Choose the option to add a custom or remote MCP server
Enter https://app.mobal.io/mcp as the server URL
Sign in to Mobal when you are sent there
Review the access screen and approve

If your assistant asks for a command to run locally, or for an API key, it does not support remote MCP servers of this kind. Contact us and we will help you find a setup that works.

What Your Assistant Can Access

The access screen asks for one or both of the following.

Access	What it allows
Read	View your locations, reviews, posts, media, websites and analytics
Write	Make changes to your locations, opening hours, posts and websites

Two things stay true no matter what you approve:

Your assistant sees only the locations your Mobal user can already manage. It cannot reach other companies or other customers' data.
Your assistant has exactly the permissions you have. If you cannot edit a location in Mobal, it cannot edit that location for you.

Before Anything Changes

Most assistants show you what they are about to do and ask for your approval before making a change.

Opening hours have a second safeguard built into Mobal. When your assistant is asked to change hours, Mobal replies with a summary of the change and waits for a confirmation before anything is applied. You will see this as an extra check in the conversation.

Nothing reaches Google, Apple, Meta or Bing until you approve it.

How to Disconnect

You can remove the connection from either side.

In Mobal (recommended, this cuts off access straight away):

Go to Settings
Open the Developer tab
Find the app under Connected apps
Click Revoke and confirm

In your assistant: open the same Connectors or MCP settings you used to add Mobal, and remove it from the list.

The Developer tab is available to company admins on plans that include API access. If you cannot see it, ask your Mobal admin to revoke the app, or contact support and we will remove it for you.

If Something Isn't Working

The connector will not add. Check the URL is exactly https://app.mobal.io/mcp with no trailing slash or spaces.
Your assistant cannot find your locations. Make sure you signed in with the Mobal account that manages those locations. If you have more than one Mobal login, sign out and reconnect with the right one.
You are asked to sign in again. Access refreshes in the background, so this is rare. Remove the connector and add it again to restore the connection.
Your company blocks the connector. Your IT admin needs to approve it first. Point them to this article.
A change is approved but not visible yet. Google, Apple, Meta and Bing review some changes before they go live, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. You can track the status of each location in Mobal.
