Duplicate business listings on Apple Maps can create confusion for customers and lead to inaccurate information across Apple’s ecosystem (Maps, Siri, Spotlight). Fortunately, Apple provides a way to report these duplicates and clean up your business’s digital presence.

✅ Step-by-Step: Reporting a Duplicate Profile

1. Open Apple Maps

  • Launch the Apple Maps app on your iPhone or iPad

  • Ensure you're using the latest version of the app for the best experience

2. Locate Duplicate Listings

  • Search for your business name or address

  • Look for duplicate or similar listings (they may have slightly different names, contact info, or hours)

  • Compare each listing carefully

3. Claim the Duplicate Profile(s)

  • If the duplicate listings are not already under your control, claim them via Apple Business Connect

  • Once claimed, you’ll be better positioned to request a merge or removal

4. Report the Duplicate

  1. Tap on the duplicate listing to open its place card

  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap “Report an Issue”

5. Select the Correct Issue Type

  • Choose “It is closed” as the reason

This signals to Apple that the listing is no longer active and may be a duplicate

6. Provide Supporting Details

In the report field:

  • Clearly state that the listing is a duplicate of your business

  • Mention the primary listing it should be merged into

  • Explain any differences between the profiles (e.g., address formatting, contact info)

  • Identify yourself as the business owner or authorized representative

  • If possible, include a link to your official website

7. Submit the Report

  • Tap “Submit” to send the report to Apple

  • You will not receive a confirmation or tracking number, but Apple will review the issue

8. Monitor the Outcome

  • Revisit the map in a few days or weeks to check if the duplicate has been removed or merged

  • You can also review past reported issues in Apple Maps

9. Keep Apple Maps Updated

  • Make sure your app is always up to date

  • Apple frequently rolls out improvements based on user feedback

💡 Additional Tips

  • For best results, always keep your business information consistent across Apple, Google, Facebook, and other directories

  • If you're a Mobal user, we help ensure your listings are claimed, synced, and accurate across platforms — making issues like duplicates easier to resolve
