When you update your business information in Mobal, the changes are sent to all your connected platforms, such as Google, Apple, Bing and Facebook. This guide explains when changes are sent and how long each platform usually takes to show them.
Initial Setup vs Ongoing Syncs
Initial Connection (First-Time Setup)
When you connect a new directory for the first time:
Your data is queued and sent at 8 PM UTC the following day
Some directories require additional pairing or verification time
Ongoing Edits
After the initial setup, any edits made in Mobal are sent to directories immediately.
The time it takes for updates to appear publicly depends on how quickly each directory processes changes.
Sync Timelines by Platform
Here's what to expect for both initial and ongoing syncs:
Platform | Initial Sync | Ongoing Updates | Notes |
Google Search & Maps | Usually within minutes | Usually within minutes | Occasionally some changes can take up to 48 hours to show |
Apple Maps, Spotlight & Siri | 2–3 weeks | 1–3 days | ~1 minute if Apple OAuth is enabled or the profile is delegated to Mobal Learn how |
Bing Maps | 2–3 weeks | 3–14 days | Time may vary based on region and verification status |
Foursquare | ~1 minute | ~1 minute | No difference between initial or ongoing updates |
HERE Maps | 2–3 weeks | 3–7 days | Standard sync times post-verification |
Facebook & Instagram | Usually within minutes | Usually within minutes | Occasionally some changes can take up to 48 hours to show |
Good to Know
You can view your connection status and sync logs in the Connections tab within each profile.
Some platforms (e.g. Apple, Bing) may have longer processing times for first-time data pairing.
The more consistent your business data is, the faster your syncs will be verified and trusted.
Map listings may briefly show older opening hours even after a successful sync. This is typically due to browser or map app cache, the updated data is already live. Refreshing or reopening the map app/browser will show the latest hours.
