This article helps you fix problems connecting Instagram to Mobal. Use it when Instagram won't connect, or when your Instagram Insights data has stopped showing in Mobal. Go through the checks below in order.
Check your Instagram account type
Mobal works with Instagram business accounts. Personal accounts are not supported.
If your account is a personal account, convert it to a business account in Instagram first.
Check your Facebook Page
Mobal connects to Instagram through the Facebook Page your Instagram account is linked to.
Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page.
The person who connects needs full control of the Facebook Page, or the Content and Insights tasks, given directly on the Page. Access given only through a business portfolio may not be enough.
How to reconnect Instagram
Go to Profiles in the left menu and open the location.
Select the Connections tab.
Find Instagram and click Connect.
Choose how to log in:
Instagram login for business if your Instagram is managed through a Meta business account.
Standard Instagram login if it is managed through your personal Meta account.
Log in to Meta and accept all the permissions Mobal asks for.
Complete the second step, Setup preferences.
How to check it worked: Instagram shows as Connected on the location's Connections tab. To see your data, go to Analytics in the left menu and select the Instagram tab.
If it doesn't work:
Try the other login option.
If Meta doesn't send you back to Mobal after you log in, try again in an incognito or private browser window.
Check Mobal's permissions in Meta
Without the correct permissions, Mobal can't fetch your Instagram Insights data. The permissions Mobal needs, and how to check them in Meta, are in Understanding Instagram Insights Permissions in Mobal.
